To think I need to bin fridge contents?

Argh! I "shut" the fridge door around midnight but no, this morning DH noticed it was slightly ajar.

Uncooked sausages, chicken drumsticks, mince. Cooked ham, chicken and sliced meats, yoghurts and more. Of course I'd done a big shop yesterday!

Is this stuff likely spoiled now and best binned, or more likely ok? 🤔

What temperature was it inside when you discovered it? Unless it felt particularly warm I suspect the food in the fridge will be fine, though maybe best to use more quickly than normal just in case. Your electricity bill will have gone through the roof though as the fridge worked all night to keep everything cool.

Surely it depends on whether it was cold still or not

If the door was mostly closed and the fridge still felt cool this morning then I think you are fine to carry on as normal.

Can you cook fresh meat today - make something that can then be frozen for later?
I think it’ll be ok but it might make you feel better about it.

@UnaOfStormhold @Blinkingheckythump @PuffinMcStuffin it was cool but not cold this morning.

@Smartiepants79 I've decided to do what u suggest- BBQ firing up as we speak and I'll use the cooked stuff for Sunday's picnic lunch. 😉
