Hello I need the Hive mind

I have to buy 2 leaving presents for colleagues (both family men)
They are personal, rather than a staff collection so I think a price limit of £15- 20

Previously, I have bought them (for birthdays etc) A breakfast bag with all the ingredients for a Full English/ American breakfast to share with family and that went down so well

Both have young families so I was hoping for something for them to enjoy together in the summer- any ideas?

I know it's a tight budget but hoping someone can help!

Supersoakers?
Picnic cream tea?
Swingball?
Garden Jenga?
Giant Pass the Pigs? (this was a triumph at a recent barbecue)

some type of gift for the garden like a giant jenga or connect four, or a cinema giftcard to cover a family ticket to see a movie x

Codenames is a great boardgame

IRunbecauseILikeCake · 15/07/2022 12:49

I agree with cinema vouchers.

knackeredagain · 15/07/2022 12:51

I’m a bit confused as to why you are buying them family presents when they are work colleagues. Wouldn’t something just for them be more appropriate?

maddy68 · 15/07/2022 12:53

Another confused by buying a family present. It's the individual that's leaving buy something for them

ShirleyPhallus · 15/07/2022 12:55

I think a bog standard JL voucher is a nice thing as they can either spend it on themselves or their family if they want to

Yodaisawally · 15/07/2022 13:03

I'd just get a voucher. Who buys leaving presents for colleagues families?

For all of those 'confused' about the leaving present for family, rather than a generic bottle of beer etc of which they will relieved lots, I wanted a more thoughtful thing they could share. It's really not that confusing or unusual, they are friendly colleagues who are well liked

But you can get them something more personal without it being for their families. I would be a bit confused if I was the colleague to be honest. It's them who works there, not their family

AppaTheSixLeggedFlyingBison · 15/07/2022 13:42

What are their interests? Favourite movies, foods, are they keen on board games, etc

crochetmonkey74 · 15/07/2022 13:43

Its a close work team - family presents go down well- I have received them from work too
(Cream tea for me and my partner)

E.g. one of my colleagues at work is a keen knitter so I would get her something based off that

crochetmonkey74 · 15/07/2022 13:45

I really like the garden games ideas or the supersoakers- they are both pub game type people who are fun and competitive so I think this is good- I can also get them off Amazon which makes it even easier.
