So I had an episode when I was younger (the house I lived in was 200+ years old) and I had a “friend” only I could see and, every night, I would dream of an awfully tall woman with a short black bob hair cut and a white frilly, high necked blouse. My parents tried for a couple of years to sell the house and one very early morning, I was in the bedroom where I would play in the darkness (?!) and the covers began to tighten around my throat, a could see the whitest light ever and a voice screamed “GET OUT!!!” I was frozen to the spot and then the duvet released me and I ran down the stairs in tears. My dad laughed it off but my mum said she had experienced things too (curtains billowing as of in a storm but window closed) and she used to see a figure on the steps of our landing and she would call out to it but it wouldn’t move. We also had a chair in the lounge which would have a horrible smell at certain times. We also had pictures on hooks just lift up and drop to the floor.
We also live near a famous castle and my mum saw a chap on a horse running at speed and then disappear before her eyes!
In my current house (new build on an old cider farm) my husband and I both heard children laughing and running around the landing - we both went upstairs and our children were zonked out in their respective beds. This has happened a few times and even my sister has heard it.
I have had other experiences but these are the ones that just spring to mind.
So, has anyone else experienced anything paranormal (YANBU) or is this all in my head (YABU)
