Hi, just posting in case anyone can help.

I teach Reception and have an Albanian boy in my class. He has not met the expected end of year standard (understandably) but has made the most INCREDIBLE progress.

Despite his mum speaking good English and my attempts to verbally relay all his achievements to her and completing a report in as plain English as I can, I'd like to write her a letter in her home language that truly gets across how proud I am and how far he has come.

Any suggestions for online translation sites? There's many to choose from but I'm not sure how accurate they are.

Thank you!

Google Translate is good - I'd use that. I use it for work purposes often. No automatic translation will be perfect but It's good enough. You could always translate the results back into English at the end to check there's nothing crazy!

Thank you for your reply!

Yes Ive been using Google translate over the year, just wasn't sure how accurate is, plus his mum is too lovely and polite to say otherwise!

But a great idea to translate back into English- thank you!

In fact, you can translate right now from any language. For instance, I didn't anticipate that you could translate from English to Hindi. However, it turned out that translating from Translate English To Hindi is simple, and I was really happy with it. Now, I have no issues at all. As a result, translation is now feasible in any format without any issues.

I use Google Translate. I usually translate to / from the other language several times, to check accuracy. Short, simple sentences are often best. I include each sentence in English, with the other language translation immediately underneath. And include a sentence saying that I used Google translate, hope it worked
