It just seems in the past year there are so many viruses/bugs. Correction. SUPER viruses. I never used to fall ill and in the past 2 months have caught two stomach bugs
My little ones have a cold/cough/temperature every other week it seems!
All eat well (exept the youngest as shes very fussy), exercise plenty, loads of sunshine exposure (on holiday at least once a year)
All mummy friends have said the same. Its never ending
Is there some explanation to why this is/whata going on?! And what can prevent it? Feel helpless. Just got over this stomach flu and now little one is ill with a fever ☹

Seems to be. I work in a school (as do some relatives) and there are lots of bugs doing the rounds. Also a lot of Covid.

There is a horrendous throat virus that is doing the rounds in my area. And covid is also rife again here at the moment.

There are only 3 of us in our house and I feel as if over the past 6 months at least one of us has been ill, we've not had more than a week where all three of us are feeling well.

It's lack of exposure. Our bodies didn't have so much to fight and they are making up for it now. I've had the stomach bug and 2 or 3 cold like viruses (they seem to run into each other so hard to know if they were the same one or a new one) in the last 6 weeks. Really annoying but it had to happen some time.

May sound a bit thick here but I thought viruses come and go with the times? As in during lockdown there was probably new viruses but we just didnt experience them because of the lockdown/handwashing regime
But now its been over two years, wouldnt they be just new viruses like we have every year so how has that affected our immune system? (Sorry this may not make sense exactly!! But basically how has lockdoen given an icrease in bugs and viruses?)

We've had a funny 24 hour thing doing the rounds - literally feeling shot for a day and then waking up fine.

Other than that we've had a horrid chesty cold that's wiped children out for weeks on end. My ds had it in his swim club and these are fit and healthy athletes competing on the national and British stage struggling to swim a warm up without being breathless.

I always assumed it was more that our immune systems are lower because of lockdowns and masks?
