Changing prep school at 7

Hi

We are looking to move to a bigger house but it doesn’t seem achievable for a few years and our son is due to start school in 2023. We have in mind a prep school near us and a prep in the area we would like to move to. Just interested in thoughts on changing schools at 7. I’m worried about other children already having formed friendship groups etc so wondering if we should just resign ourselves to staying put until he is ready for secondary school…

A lot of prep schools have an intake at 4 and another at 7.

Age 7 is a fairly standard entry point for prep, so there will likely be a few new starters
at the same time.

My son has done the 7+ and is starting a new school . We have had his class list and there are a few new kids joining in yr 3 so I wouldn’t worry about it
