Escaping the heat

We live near Sheffield, projected forecast is 30 degrees on Sunday & 33 degrees on Monday. I have 3 year old twins, one of whom does not cope well with the heat.

I half jokingly told our family chat whatsapp group that we'd all be decamping to BIL's who lives in Glasgow this weekend, but I'm actually now considering it.

Anyone else thinking about escaping this insufferable heat?

So I suppose my AIBU is

AIBU to drive 4 hours each way to enjoy some lovely 23 degree heat

but there is one crucial question that cannot be avoided - does the car have good air conditioning?

I mean 4 to 6 hours in a car with good air conditioning sounds like a win on its own.

But if you have a garden and washing line drenching sheets and making a den out of wet sheets is a great way to create an air conditioned den.
