To eat Chinese takeaway we bought on Sunday?

We bought Chinese for the whole family on Sunday evening but ended up ordering far too much and had two whole tubs of chicken chow mein left 😑

We've managed to get through one so far but there's a whole tub in the fridge - it was delivered at 6pm on Sunday so could I have the rest - cold straight out of the fridge - tonight for tea?
Seems a shame to throw it away.

Of course you can. It's only 48 hours and it's been refrigerated.

I would definitely heat it in the oven and eat it. Cooked is dodgy to keep but chow mien is noodles, isn't it.

I think Your'll find it may not taste nice. I am a big fan of leftovers, especially curry the next morning. Or Chinese the next day. But it doesn't keep very well beyond that. On Monday it would've been lovely. But by today it might not be that great, just how well it keeps.

Ex food safety EHO here - yes perfectly fine to eat it today - our advice for cooked food storage was 'day of production plus 2'
However I'd not advise eating cold - reheat to very hot (above 75 if you have a probe). This will ensure any bacterial growth over last 48 hours will be destroyed to a safe level.

Yes. I take a general rule of 3 days for Chicken so yeah would definitely eat it

I don't re heat Chinese food at all so I always it chow mein cold ,yum! 🤣
