I am struggling to read this site with so many ads covering up the text it's virtually impossible. What is going on? AIBU or am I expected to pay to go Premium?

How else is the site going to be funded?

I feel the same about other sites and apps, Pinterest being one of the most irritating. I have browsed MN and Pinterest for many years and remember there being none or hardly any adverts and they're absolutely littered with them now unless you pay premium. I understand they need funding but it's still irritating...

I understand ads are necessary to fund the site and presumably the site gets paid a decent amount to show these ads. What I am talking about is that I cannot read because the ads are half blocking out the text and unless I pay £50 a year it has now become impossible. There are many many people on here who can't afford to pay that but really value the support of others so should not be forced into paying this amount.

Then start your own ad free site and run it for free.

Get an adblocker for your browser. Free and no ads

I don't mind ads on a site that's free to use; it's the content of them that I object to.

In particular, that mashed up fish mess that the lady makes. Makes me heave every time I see it! 😂

There is no point in the ads if they make the site impossible to read. I am really struggling on my mobile atm.
