Norovirus/gastroenteritis incubation period?

I came down with a sickness bug, that I think was either norovirus or a nasty bout of gastroenteritis on Thursday evening.
I’m back to normal now. Was better by Saturday evening for the most part, so it was only about 48 hours altogether.

My DS (3) is still fine and hasn’t got any symptoms. Neither does my DP.

I’m constantly waiting to see when either of them will start throwing up/having diarrhoea or complaining of stomach cramps.

How long is the incubation period? I’m assuming they will both get it, how could they dodge it when we all live in the same house?!

Pretty sure Noro is very quick, like 24 hrs after exposure? Possibly 48 max. I think they'll be OK. I've had it twice and no one else caught it. Hope they swerve it!

I've read it can be up to 5 days but more likely 48 hours. Make sure you've bleached all surface and washed all bedding & PJs at hot temp as the virus can survive on surfaces for a very long time.

I do hope you’re right.

After the experience I’ve just had, I can’t imagine having to clear up my 3 year old’s sickness and diarrhoea 😭
