Will government tax cuts help our damage our society?

It worries me that all Tory leadership candidates are promising tax cuts. Our society is suffering so badly already from underfunded schools, hospitals, adult social care, libraries and social workers - AIBU to think this is not the time to reduce taxes?

I totally agree OP but a lot of people can't see further than their own bottom lines. I know some people are really struggling, but they'd be struggling even more without decent roads, healthcare, streetlights, policing, or a responsive fire service! We need to pay more tax, not less.

Agree. I don't want to live in a low tax society, I want to live in a society that has good healthcare and social care and where all people not just wealthy/lucky people can thrive.

For starters, disability is pure luck. Nobody deserves to be impoverished and neglected by their society for it.
