To think this is because of me?

My son is 2 next month and the past few days have been horrific. He screams at everything and paddy’s I dropped him off at nursery this morning and everybody was looking as he was screaming that much. I honestly never see any other children like this, I am so exhausted and I cried all the way home. Is this because of me? My first child is brilliant and never experienced any of this?

It's not because of you, because then your first child would have been the same!

Is it only the last few days? Maybe something is hurting?

Is he better once you've left him at nursery? Have you talked to the staff there? They (well, some of them) will have lots of experience of children of this age, and may have some ideas as to whether there's anything particular triggering this, or ways to calm him down.

No, if it was down to you your first child would of been the same.

How is his speech? Does he have any?

Samsnite · 11/07/2022 09:15

His speech is fine, he seems ok development wise? Can count to 10 etc.

He has has always been quite demanding and clingy, however the past few days have been particularly bad! He constantly wants picking up and will follow me round crying until I pick him up, he screams until I sit next to him on the sofa and will not let me get up?

Could be anything. He might feel unwell or something my son of similar age will have a week where he is a demon. Always cries being dropped off at nursery, we know for a fact he loves it because as soon as he's through the door starts playing and smiling. Kids are weird don't worry about it!

Why would it be you OP? What have you done to him? If nothing then I guess not.

midairchallenger · 11/07/2022 09:21

Maybe the heat is making him feel lousy?

Samsnite · 11/07/2022 09:22

I dunno I always feel when kids act that way they are lacking something? Could it be terrible two’s?

I think I just want somebody to tell me it is normal? Or any tips to deal with tantrums.
