Budget was originally 1500 but added another 500.

Is it even possible :( we've not been anywhere for 5 years.

Needs to be close to train station as we won't have a car.

And technically its 4 adults 2 kids as 2 kids are 16+

You can easily do that.

How about a holiday cottage/caravan along the Norwich to Sheringham rail line? That way you can visit Norwich, the Norfolk Broads (and take a boat out for a day), the seaside at Cromer and Sheringham. A bit of a mixed bag, but staying in one location.

Parkdean normally have good offers, especially the Welsh ones, although public transport would be a bit more difficult than other regions. Always worth a look though www.parkdeanresorts.co.uk/offers/school-summer-holidays/

I think the issue is, that is is so late.
You could certainly afford loads of beautiful places in N Wales, but as you open them up they are mostly fully occupied.

Then your train fares are going to impact massively - not knowing where you are coming from, and probably not now being able to book cheaper fares.

cheesenpickle · 10/07/2022 21:16

is the 2k just for accommodation? Have you a separate budget for food, activities, travel etc.

Closedlips · 10/07/2022 21:51

Megabus or National Express are likely to be cheaper options than the train for some places - maybe see where you can get to from your nearest stop (if that's possible for you) and look at Trivago and Air BnB for places that sleep 6 nearby.

I've just booked kingsdown holiday park chalet for four adults, two kids and two babies for four nights for less than £500. Near Deal train station. Lovely beaches and town
