I have a 15 month old and on Saturday we are going to stay in a lodge in the south east. I've now seen its forecast to be 35 degrees and I'm panicking a bit ... I assume lodges aren't very well insulated so it will be much hotter than the average house. Will it be that bad or am I massively over thinking it? I do suffer from anxiety and am worried about my little one getting heat stroke!!

Also please give me all your tips for coping with this!

Will your lodge have a freezer? My little ones love ice lollies, I just bought some silicone callipo shaped holders and fill them with sugar free squash. Cheap, easily restockable and easy for them to hold and keep cool.

The lodge will probably be quite warm but most have a veranda/porch which will give you shade and air and (hopefully) a breeze. Also the lack of insulation will make it cooler at night.

I would take or buy a little paddling pool. If you still have some muslin squares take those and some sandwich bags, wet the cloths and pop them in bags in the fridge - use them as cool wipes. Put baby in natural fabrics when possible. Plan any activities for v early morning - I was camping last week and went to the beach at 7am - had a lovely walk/paddle/shell hunt and was done and in an air conditioned coffee shop by 10.30/11.

Are you on a site with facilities? The main buildings may be cooler at peak heat times if there is a games room/restaurant.
