Is it worth killing the grass? Light hearted

My kids would like a pool and I've just spent the best part of the last three months bringing the garden back to life (I hated gardening before and seriously neglected the garden) I am now pretty proud of what I've accomplished and dread the idea of killing my grass 😂

Aibu to say no to the pool? I don't have any patio space to put it on either. I would need to get one big enough for the 4 of us so wouldn't be able to move it every other day.

Should I stop being grumpy and get the silly pool 😂😂😭

No.. they are horrible and bad for the planet.

Google for a wild swimming spot near you - way more fun.

Kids are only kids once in their life. Grass will always grow. Put in a pool and let the remaining grass grow so the wild flowers will come in. Then enjoy the kids' delight and the insects feeding on the wildflowers.

We had an eight foot round one up from june to sept every year for about 5 years. The grass regrew relatively quickly, but there is a circle shape in the grass so you can see the join between the old grass and the regrown IYSWIM.

To be fair, its not that noticeable, and we dont do much to look after it besides cut the grass when it needs it, but I daresay if we were that bothered I could rotavate the join and resow seeds, but we dont see the point.

Summer season ticket for the council pool instead? Are they old enough to go on their own, then you can put a sun lounger in your garden 😀

Just do it. Pools are brilliant fun (the chemicals, cleaning and packing away not soo much!).
The grass will recover.
Your DC won't remember the state of the lawn but they will remember the pool.

Ours is on artificial grass which will horrify the majority of people on MN 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣🤣
