Hair emergency

Shamelessly posting for traffic.

I’ve been using a shampoo bar for about a year now & all was going ok. I wash twice condition then rinse. Been using the same conditioner for literally years. I let my hair dry naturally, but then will use straighteners but don’t use any other products on my hair.

last week I washed it & the roots near the top of my head felt tacky, almost sticky & looked greasy.
I presumed I hadn’t rinsed enough so didn’t worry about it & just re washed as normal. Same issue. Tried again, being more through this time. Same problem.

i changed my shampoo today & while it might feel a little better, it might also be me imagining it as its still the same. I’m definitely thoroughly rinsing.

any suggestions?

Shampoo and conditioner bars do that to me too, I won't touch them.

Scrub talcum powder(not baby powder, proper talc) into your scalp and leave it half hour then wash with normal Shampoo. Rinse it then wash again with normal shampoo in cold water and conditioner with normal conditioner. Should shift it.

L'Oréal elvive does a good one btw for greasy hair that would be ideal for getting this stuff out. It's either pink or orange with a pink lid, I can't remember which but it says for hair that gets greasy quickly.

I think you need a clarifying shampoo. I use OXG apple cider vinegar clarifying shampoo on my hair occasionally to help get rid of a product build up on my curly hair

Apparently apple purée cleans that residue off. No idea why.

Oh thank you. I will try all of these!

I actually bought some L’Oréal elvive which I tried this afternoon.
