Men on village Facebook pages

Anyone else tired of ‘sarcastic/cutting’ and totally fucking needless responses from the local dimwit men on their village Facebook page?

Me: Hi, can anyone recommend a car wash please?
Facebook man: It’s called a garden hose and a sponge love

ARGHHHH just fuck off!

It's not just the men around here that do it

ofwarren · 09/07/2022 19:38

Yep, exactly the same on our local one.
I dread having to ask something on there.

Sashimimimi · 09/07/2022 20:04

Or when someone posts about something bad that’s happened to them, like their kids toys being nicked or their car vandalised, some twat will always treat it like a joke and tag their mates and ask if it was them.

On ours, a young woman was asking about driving instructors who taught in automatic cars. There were far too many unhelpful, unwanted comments from men telling her that if she could not learn to drive a manual car, she wasn’t a proper driver.

My3bigdogs · 09/07/2022 20:35

There was a post in ours about a local sports venue that had increased their prices. The first six responses were men who were complaining about the increase “at a time when everyone is struggling”. The 7th response was mine and I said something similar about the increase being too high and a load of men piled on me “typical woman, always complaining”. Nothing said to the 6 men before me who also complained.

If women post anything on ours, they just get 'shut up Karen'.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 09/07/2022 20:57

Yes I know what you mean, it's draining. The troglodytes in my village love bashing out sarcastic 'witty banter' on our Facebook page.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 09/07/2022 20:58

I have signed up to fb as a man. It is disappointing how different the experience, and the adverts are.
The worst issue is the way women fawn over me, a woman can say something and will not get any replies. If I post the same with a male name I get endless posts of encouragement/support/thanks. Possibly the most depressing thing I've experienced.

GoofyIsACow · 09/07/2022 21:00

I fucking loathe our local facebook pages, it’s not exclusively men on ours but I agree!

mrsfoof · 09/07/2022 21:05

In my town we have a ladies' only Fb group for this exact reason.

FourChimneys · 09/07/2022 21:13

Ours is very strictly monitored (by a man) and any comments like that would be deleted.

JunieBabes · 09/07/2022 21:31

Yep, it's the same on our village group. One particular bloke is so nasty to women; he was in my year at school and was horrible then, too. He doesn't even live in the village but seems to think he can have an opinion on everything that happens there

BashfulClam · 09/07/2022 21:34

Yep and other folk piling in if you disagree with something. I posted something I was concerned about in our area, got ripped apart by one guy (a few agreed with me) and then a woman it didn’t concern and wasn’t involved says ‘why don’t you fuck off and give us all peace!’ Hmmm why don’t you not read the post if it annoys you. Bullying at its finest, she didn’t need to wade in.

We have one guy who posts irrelevant unfunny memes all the time. We also had a guy moving to the village who updated us constantly giving the date he was moving in for around 3 weeks. On the day he got his keys he posted he was finally in the door…great!!! Then he started the next day saying what we should do about the local management co. He hadn’t even dealt with them yet.

It used to be great and I use the search function now to find recommendations as it’s just too busy and full of dickheads.

LaCulpable · 09/07/2022 21:34

I think you'll find it's men behind keyboards generally, so many utter women-haters it's eye-opening.

SkeletonFight · 09/07/2022 21:36

There was a child beaten up in our village recently by several lads - seemingly it was a pre arranged thing. A woman reported it . Several men posted including one of the Admin and say oh " boys will be boys" etc. He is also the father of one of the boys who calls himself " the King of the Village" It's appalling.

PeppaPigIsAnnoying · 09/07/2022 21:42

I'm a member of a number of local surrounding village's FB page's and at least twice a week the same questions get asked on every page

Can somebody recommend an electrician

"" a window cleaner
