Exhausted and pissed off

I have four DCs. All but one are away this weekend. I have 4 jobs. Work more than full time, some horrible shifts. Left 16 yo a note to do last night's washing up while I was on a 6 til 2 this morning. Also texted to remind that it needed doing.
Got in from work, fucking washing up still there.
So bloody cross.

Make him do it, and point out you work 4 jobs to put a roof over his head. Teens can be selfish buggers

I sulkingly did it in a strop . He made me a cup of tea.

I had this last week with DS17. Told him to clean his bedroom - which had almost every (damp/dirty) towel in the house on his floor. Dirty plates, bowls, etc. Told him to hoover the stairs and landing for me as he had the whole day off. Entire thing would have taken maybe an hour - and I'd just paid £320 for 10 driving lessons for him.

Nothing. He is now grounded for the weekend and has sheepishly done it - but I'm pissed off that it took this much hassle. Like you, I work long hours and feel like I come home to a shit hole of a house with other people's mess.

Why did you do it?? No wonder they don't bother if they know you're just gonna do it anyway! You should have gone up there and told him to come down and do it.
