On a coach for an hour and have the following

Two young women, probably early twenties, with the worst American vocal fry I've ever heard. Every word is dragged out and scrapes across their vocal chords. It's all 'reaaaallly' and 'sooo baaad'.

Woman in front of me chewing gum frantically and then popping it then chewing again.

Guy behind me playing his music on phone audio. No headphones. European pop shit.

I'm in hell, aren't I? I've sinned and now being punished.

You've clearly done something very bad in a previous life!
How long is this journey to hell going on for?

I once sat on a packed coach. A woman in front of me got up a moved seats towards the back as soon as someone got off. It quickly became apparent she had wet herself. We had urine all over the floor dribbling down the coach under peoples shoes. I warned the driver who was trying to put someone in that seat. That person had to miss the coach because they could not get a seat and was not allowed to travel. I didnt really pay attention to the woman so did not know what she looked like, when the driver asked. So the driver very vocally announced it to the whole coach. It was a very hot day and the whole coach smelled of urine. The floor was sticky. That woman must have sat in wet clothes for hours. Someone had to sit next to her smelling of urine and someone had to sit nect to her urine soaked seat.

I also have my own grumpy teenager next to me complaining about the sun. I think she wants me to switch it off. Confused

Ok. That's giving me some perspective

Headphones are the answer for your next trip. Preferably the ones you stuff right in so you can't hear the general public

Ludo19 · 09/07/2022 07:59

Sat on a coach, really really hot. Guy behind me decides to give his son all the chocolate, crisps and fizzy juice he asked for, all this before lunchtime. Start to hear retching.....then splash, the sound and smell was horrific, it was like a scene out of the exorcist. I've got a weak stomach and I started boaking into a tissue all the while this childs vomit slopping round the floor of the coach. Never again.

You need to join in and find your own annoying habit, maybe the odd scream at random intervals or loud foot tapping?

chilledbubble · 09/07/2022 08:01

Don't worry they are probably annoyed by you too. Its just one of those things. Hopefully you'll all be off soon.

Why would they be annoyed by OP?

Poor woman, she must have been mortified.

Poor woman, she must have been mortified.

Not mortified enough to get off the coach though and let the other person travel. She could have sorted her clothes out too.

Possible MH issues at play?

WonderingWanda · 09/07/2022 08:13

It could be worse, think of all the teachers doing term trips over the next couple of weeks. 40 or more sweaty children / teenagers who may or may not sing badly, play tinny music on their phones. Some of them might repeatedly take off their seat belts, stand up, open the emergency exit, throw sweets at each other or squabble endlessly. Always get the crappiest coaches with no aircon and permenant heating, prone to breaking down. Always very lurchy driving and slow. Someone usually vomits.

Aloebee · 09/07/2022 08:15

Stayed at a caravan site once got the bus into the local town. A woman got on with 3 kids they were all dotted around the bus they all had carrier bags and started to vomit then laugh and show each other. It was disgusting

ihavenocats · 09/07/2022 09:55

You're not allowed to cause a nuisance with music. You should be instructing him to stop. How rude. Coach journeys can be terrible, but earplugs saved me when I used to use them as they were so cheap. They're not even cheap anymore.
