Personally, I find constant communication and the expectation of being in contact ever day draining.

If you are worried (for whatever reason) contact him and see if he’s okay. He’ll either reply or won’t. If he doesn’t - then he’s not meeting your expectations of contact everyday. If he isn’t meeting your needs you need to think where this is going and if you want to continue things.
