Do I need to inform Landlords agent regarding broken toilet seat?

May sound like a silly question but the toilet seat within the property has always been a bit shit and finally broke last week. It’s been hanging on by two screws so I finally replaced it with a new one today.

My question is, do I need to send an email to the Landlord’s agents just to let them know that the Landlord’s one broke and I changed it myself. The previous one was white and this one is more of a wooden colour.

Normally I wouldn’t give this a second thought and wouldn’t say anything but the Landlord is quite particular (I’m the one who had multiple threads of replacing the broken bed within the property and the Landlord wouldn’t let me!)

Let me know if it’s unnecessary to inform anyone or if I should just send a quick email. I didn’t bother asking the agent’s to chase up the Landlord to replace the broken toilet seat because he’s tight and it isn’t worth the hassle

Going on your previous threads I wouldn't bother. He will probably just want to make sure you have bought one much better than the crap he left you with.

How is the bed saga going?

I probably wouldn’t bother either BUT you may be best of replacing again with one the same colour as listed on the inventory when you leave so they can’t charge you for it - depends how picky they are likely to be!

Luckily I don’t have a signed inventory or anything like that. No deposit either so there can’t be much repercussions!

@LittleOwl153 I kept on at the agent’s and they came back to me saying as the bed is not fit for use that I can throw his bed out, replace with my own bed and I can take it with me when I exit the property. What a win! Buying the bed in two weeks so I’m super happy.

I agree with you though. I’m better off not telling him as no doubt he’ll have something to say even though he wouldn’t have replaced it anyway!
