Urgent help - passport application

Sorry. I know this into an AIBU. Posting for traffic. Sorry again!

My passport is expired. I'm filling in passport applications for my kids and doing my renewal. We aren't planning on going away until October so no rush.

But on my kids' applications is asks if the mother (me) hae a UK passport.

I do, but an expired one. Which I'll be renewing. Do I answer yes to that question or no?

I've just done this for mine as well. I put yes because you do have a passport it's just expired. They will ask for passport number so use your old one.

Answer yes, you have a Passport and a passport number. It just makes it easier cross referencing you.

Was on hold to ask them if I should and the application kept popping up with a timeout warning so mumsnet to the rescue!

Yes, we had this. I was worried to but just said yes and put in old number. All sent off at same time and new one came before kids but there were no issues whatsoever!

Can I send both their birth certificates in the same envelope?

Just be careful when posting documents as when I just did my children last week and mine, I had a different address to post to that them, and the address given includes the reference number of the application. I needed up posting them separately as I didn't want anything that might delay

When I did 3 renewals a few years ago they all went to different addresses!

I renewed my daughter's recently and my passport was expired, it was fine.
