Another should form try not to worry. I had dry socket years ago so I know that pain well and really hope your clot forms. If it doesn't then go back asap to have them put a medicated strip thing in, the relief was instant for me

You can buy clove wadding stuff to pack it out with which will numb the pain and help it heal

Lunarpsychobitch · 07/07/2022 13:51

You need to go back to the dentist and get it packed. I had that before and thought they'd left a bit of tooth in because I could see it. Turned out it was my jawbone I could see and you definitely don't want to get a bone infection.

Definitely go back to the dentist especially as it's near the end of the week and they'll not be available over the weekend. Dry socket is horrendously painful, I had it years ago and honestly wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It didn't clot properly and to make matters worse a small bit of tooth had been left. I ended up getting seen first thing Monday morning and it had to be cleaned and packed. Unless you have to, I wouldn't mess about with DIY jobs, get back to the dentist.

Hi - get back to your dentist ASAP, you need to do this before weekend in my view. I’ve had dry socket and as other pp said pain is extremely bad. Hope you get seen as an urgent referral.
That said, congratulations on your new arrival!

Hi OP. I've had dry socket before, and although it's very painful, the good news is that the moment the dentist packed it for me, the pain disappeared entirely, like magic. If you're concerned, you could ask for this anyway just in case, I should think. It only took seconds of the dentist's time for me.

I agree that you need to try your damnedest to get an emergency appointment asap to get it packed.
