So my landlord is selling his house, doesn’t do any repairs and wants rent upfront so it doesn’t come in 2 weeks late with universal credit. Sits outside the house watching me, comes round when he feels like it, even goes to my parents house. Quite frankly had enough but the council played it off as the fact I was stressed with it all being passed on to the mental health team. I was like well who wouldn’t be stressed when the landlord is showing up late at night and then having your parents ringing you all day whilst you try and look after your children to sort out a situation that can’t be sorted. The way my landlord sees it he doesn’t have any money so I should pay rent and he can just do nothing, also trying to bill me for the electrics that had to be fixed after failing even though he didn’t have them done before I moved in and they were tampered with. My parents are like just leave it we don’t want them to think you have mental health problems. So basically my council have a thing, complain and you have mental health problems even though they are charging landlords 500 pounds a year to do no checks and do nothing basically. I’m pushed into the corner of letting my landlord harass the life out of me and my family and the council pushing it away so they dont have to do anything. I’ve reported to the police and they are going to have a word, AGAIN. Been here 3 months and had the police involved about 15 times in the past month. It’s a nightmare. If it’s not my landlord calling, it’s his parents, his friends, people driving him by the house. Yes i am trying to move, far far away
