Hi so sorry posting for traffic. I don't seem to be able to either get through on the phone or to find any kind of form for a refund. Does anyone know what we can do? Tia 🙏

Have you tried MSE website? There are some links there for compensation claims if any is due. They have to put you on a new flight though at their cost, so keep trying to get through to them.

You can do so through the manage my booking page on their website. Is it a refund you're claiming or compensation as flight is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the trip?

babasaclover · 06/07/2022 17:33

When you phone BA select the option which says make a new booking, they soon answer that extension! Then explain that you need to process a refund that's what I did

phishy · 06/07/2022 17:40

They should be forced to automatically refund in these cases. Not acceptable that customers have to claim.

I've never had to claim a refund so can't help, sorry.

superram · 06/07/2022 17:44

I’ve always just been refunded automatically unless I’ve chosen to change. They cancelled one a month ago and I just managed it the app, though I did rebook at the same price.

Leftbutcameback · 06/07/2022 20:25

@Deereemer do you want a refund given you're entitled to be flown on the same day to the same location at their cost. Don't give that up for a refund.

Deereemer · 06/07/2022 20:52

Thanks all. The flight back was cancelled not the flight out so did emergency rebook for 4.flights 1,300 pounds. Will try tomorrow for refund.just unbelievable the refund is not automatic! Day light corporate robbery

@Deereemer good luck with getting the cost of the flights from BA. Martin Lewis' website can help if you have no luck. I hope you're pursuing the full cost of the new flights not just a refund of the price you paid?

Intransigentcat · 07/07/2022 21:06

I've done mine through the manage my booking page with BA. I did ring up several times during Covid and did get through but it has taken several hours on each occasion. I had to ring up again recently because every time I book it changes my title from Ms Intransigent Cat to Mr Intransigent Cat. Obviously as the lead passenger I'm supposed to be a man. The last call to fix that issue took 2 hours.

I feel you pain though, I've had two flights cancelled with Wizzair. The only way to get a cash refund (there is supposed to be an option to reclaim credit in the app the appears automatically when your flight gets cancelled. It simply doesn't) is to ring up. That involves ringing a premium rate number, so to get your money back you have to ring a line that costs about £1.50 a minute.

Bloody charlatans I tell thee
