Is it just me or did anyone else just hear one of the BBC Male tennis commentators say during his match today when talking about Kyrgios summons for DV that 'he has a lot to cope with'. Aibu in suggesting they should perhaps keep their mouths shut because I'm sure his ex partner has a lot more to cope with?

I found it pretty offensive.

He's an arrogant a**hole, I hate him on the court, thinks he's so above everyone else and has this oddly massive ego. I don't think he should be allowed to continue playing if he's got that "hanging over him". It certainly didn't suprise me that he was up for something like that either.

I watched his match for about three minutes on Monday and the absolute drivel that was coming out of the (male) commentators mouths making thin attempts to excuse or validate his appalling behaviour was absurd! I was genuinely shocked. The man is a prick, and he shouldn't be allowed on the court.

If a woman was as obnoxious as he is she'd be crucified.

you did hear correctly.
i heard it too.
and it did sound a bit odd, as if he had to deal with something laborious back home, like ?
a lot of gardening to do, or sorting out the insurance on his swept-away house in the floods.
it is a criminal charge; so probably best to avoid any comment at all.
but i agree with OP, could be seen as the commentator having sympathy for him in the situation. does suggest a certain attitude. outdated.
