Do you know any people who were part of your social circle who have gone on to ruin their lives/commit crimes, etc, despite a good start in life.
I know quite a few (all men) and I'm wondering what seriously went through their heads. One convicted of domestic abuse after being remarkably lucky to avoid a stalking charge over his ex girlfriend, another sacked from his very good career for making inappropriate comments to a woman who contacted the company who turned out to be his boss's wife, another one has just been jailed for assaulting his then girlfriend. Another former friend has virtually bankrupted himself after moving into (I kid you not) a rented stately home and paying hardly any rent and then sueing the landlord and being foolish enough to appeal against the judgment. Yet another married a Filipino woman he barely knew who is now divorcing him after a short marriage and claiming half of his house (she might get it too bearing in mind she moved countries to be with him and cannot work).
All of these men had good starts in life and good, mostly professional jobs/careers.
What goes through their heads to make the choices they do and to exercise such poor judgement?
