Does anyone else get this kind of rash when they're ill?

I had laryngitis many years ago, and developed a patch of red, flat rash on the sides of the bottom of my neck and a bit between my boobs.

Since then, every time I've had any kind of cough or throat-related illness, I've got the same rash, but it spreads to a larger area each time! It massively appeared when I had my first two covid jabs as well.

Now I've finally caught covid, and the rash is here yet again, but this time it's spread on to my chin as well... it's incredibly attractive 😂

Anyone else get this weird rash when they're ill? Or am I just a freaky rash weirdo?

viral rashes are not uncommon

My DD had this exact rash with Covid

My best friend from primary school days did this when she was too hot, embarrassed, ill etc etc. She has the most wonderful strawberry blonde hair and I've known it in others with pale skin. I wonder if it's just a fun added feature? Never seemed to do her any harm.

I've plenty of full body/torso ones on myself and my children in the past - it's the specific pattern of this that made me wonder.

Oh! It's odd isn't it - I wonder why it's in these specific areas?

Actually, I had a friend who got red blotches down her face and neck in similar situations, I'd forgotten that.

I don't get this unless I'm ill, which I'm grateful for.

I sometimes get a form of hives with an infection. It’s often worst where clothes rub or there is skin on skin contact. It could be where your collar is rubbing for example.

If I have any kind of virus I always get a rash exactly like yours
