To feel neglected

I've got covid so feeling a bit crap but basically fine. The children are staying at their dad's and haven't messaged me at all, in 3 days, to see how I am. They're 13 and 16, so busy with their own lives but really, a bit of love and care would be appreciated 🤷‍♀️

Is that normal? Am I overreacting? I feel lonely too and how have I raised two children to not give a crap when their mum is poorly??

I know what you mean but you could think about it like this, that you've raised independent kids that aren't tied by apron strings

I think at that age, allowing for busy days at school and whatevers going on at dad's afterwards it probably needs a reminder from dad. Just have you rang mum yet to see how she is.
To be fair though, would you suggest ringing dad to see how he is if they were with you and he had covid?
I know how it feels though. I have covid at moment. Not my kids but no phone call to find out if I need anything from very good friend. Same friend had operation a few months ago and couldn't go out. I shopped for her several times, cooked and brought over fill meals once a week for 5 weeks and ran her to hospital for her first check up 🤔 don't need anything. Just would have liked a telephone call enquiring how I am and offering. Just moaning as other people did offer. 😀

That's how I'm trying to spin it...!

@shiningstar2 he had it a few weeks ago and we put together a little bag of goodies to cheer him up, not reciprocated so I wish I hadn't bothered!

Sorry about your friend, it's similar isn't it though. I think I find it hard because I'm home alone now so feeling a bit sad and lonely. They've all got a lot going on, busy lives and I guess they know I'll be fine so why worry?!

That is bad when you have done your bit when the boot was on the other foot. Hope you feel better soon op. 💐
