AIBU to think that you don't start boxing with your mate in the middle of the road at 6:45am?!

People are dicks.

girlmom21 · 05/07/2022 07:35

Were they training? Were they being noisy? Was it a busy road?

If they're doing some exercise quietly and not disturbing anyone it wouldn't massively bother me - although it's just a bit strange.

TinySaltLick · 05/07/2022 07:38

Maybe it was scheduled to be accessible for people in Vegas?

Harridance · 05/07/2022 07:39

Yes very selfish if it's noisy which I imagine it was

SnowyPetals · 05/07/2022 07:39

Do you mean as in boxing training where one person holds the pads while the other boxes? If so, meh, lots of people like to exercise outdoors in the morning.

pictish · 05/07/2022 07:51

I dunno…I suppose boxing in the road is better early in the morning when there’s less traffic.

Anotherselfemployedcleaner · 05/07/2022 08:27

If it was March, I would have assumed that the OP was talking about hares … because that happens a lot where I live!

Pads practice is bloody noisy though, at least if you're doing it properly, not something I'd inflict on other people at that time of the morning. People genuinely don't appreciate how loud they are sometimes though - bouncing basketballs, riding a skateboard on tarmac, even pulling one of those little wheely case things can be loud enough to wake someone up if you're doing it early in the morning on a quiet street.

😆

It woke us up, even with our windows closed. They were being noisy and grunting/smacking the practice pads hard.

You poor thing. 😏

EmmaH2022 · 05/07/2022 09:45

OP did you say anything?

I can't believe how stupid - and noisy - people can be.

YouBoggleMyMind · 05/07/2022 09:58

It would have pissed me off even if I wasn't, but I am 29 weeks pregnant and not sleeping well anyway, so to be woken up by smacking and grunting outside our house isn't nice or necessary.

I think I need to move to the country with no neighbours and some boxing hares only! Grin

I get the annoyance, but it's not like it was 4:45am, it was a weekday, and shit happens. If you live in a built-up area, you will hear your neighbours' lives and they will hear yours. They weren't yelling and blasting music.

Get double glazing, run a fan for white noise.

YouBoggleMyMind · 05/07/2022 10:02

No, I didn't say anything as I didn't fancy confronting 2 men with boxing gear, plus I look like total shit in the morning and no one should see that.

I did make a note though as I know a neighbour has put in a complaint to the council about them for other things (thinking drilling late at night and revving motorbikes on their drive). It's been a bit of a problem house over the years sadly.

If they're known trouble makers, it's different.

I too hope to live in the middle of nowhere one day....though I know someone who does and she gets people turning up saying "I spotted your house on google, it's so interesting". Argh.

Harridance · 05/07/2022 10:59

I think anything that wakes anyone up before 8 is unreasonable

On a weekday? So anyone who works weekdays, anyone who commutes and anyone who attends an educational establishment?
