To ask for ideas for my sons 16th birthday

Sorry but I know Aibu gets the greatest views so posting here as getting desperate.
My son is 16 next Monday, he is a great boy/man and we are so proud of him. But he doesn't want anything for his birthday except money in case he sees something in the future he really wants. I would really like to get him something to mark the occasion but I've no idea what. He isn't a watch/jewellery type. So great give minds, any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my 16 yr old. He got a couple of small things on the day and then we are taking him to an antiques (but not fancy ones!) auction to pick something he would like long term. I think he likes the idea of bidding etc. We did check with him that it was something he would want

Driving experience? Although he'd only need to wait a year for the real thing.

My son is going to be 16 and has said he wouldn’t mind going up on one of those flying experiences, small plane or helicopter. It’s not as expensive as it sounds! He loves sushi as well so going to take him to a nice restaurant instead of Yo Sushi 🤣

I know you said no jewellery but my DS14 who isn't that into jewellery is after a St.Christopher's pendant.

I think an experience thing like a helicopter ride, glider ride etc may be the way to go ?

Mine who’s 16 in the next few months would have a car to do up if he had his way, but he’s an aspiring car mechanic and cars are his passion. Although he wants to travel to a premier league match with a mate.

His ideal birthday itself would be go karting with his mates followed by pizza.
