SIL is late 60s. Beautiful house filled with bits and pieces .

I don’t know what to buy for her birthday .

So far , i have bought fancy chocolates and a book I think she will like . I’m thinking -
should I gift for £30 beauty card for her to either get her nails done or whatever she fancies . I know she occasionally has her nails done as a treat .

Or is this lazy / rude ? I feel bad giving a voucher with a price on .

I really like her and don’t want to just buy tat.

Last year I bought organic soaps and bits like that . Have known her for 6 years, So still getting to know her . She is not a greedy person etc and places higher value on experiences, time and home made gifts I think !

what can I gift her ???
AIBU to gift a voucher ?

You can absolutely get her a voucher - one given for things that you know the recipient likes (e.g. nails) is lovely.

However, if you wanted another option: my brother got me a short subscription to a beauty selection box earlier this year. I've genuinely loved getting a little box of things to try every month since January. It's been great fun. Maybe another option? 3 months with Birchbox is £39 so not far off your price point.

I love getting beauty vouchers, as I don't always spend time or money on myself. Getting a voucher means I don't feel guilty spending the money, and I have to book time just for me to use it.
