Premier Inn fraudulent transaction - Halifax won't help.

Posting here for traffic.

I got a message from the bank this morning about a fraudulent transaction in a pub. I checked the bank and found another fraudulent transaction to Premier Inn Leicester which is still pending. The bank has now cancelled the card and stopped the pub transaction; they said they can not do anything about the Premier Inn transaction as they have done an investigation and it has been authorized on my device and to contact Premier Inn. I have not made any bookings with them, have not authorized any transaction on my device. Premier Inn said they can not do anything until the transaction goes through and there is no guarantee I will get the money back.

What do I do? why does Halifax does not cancel the transaction as it is still pending? how do I get my money back. ?

Sorry, can’t help but how frustrating!

Has the booking happened? Could you call the hotel and explain what has happened so this person doesn’t get a free stay?
