Been looking for my DDs phone for the last few hours and it's no where to be found. We know it must be in the house. It's turned off, find my phone isn't locating it. We have looked in all the places we would normally put it to keep it safe ie kitchen cupboards, bedroom side tables etc. Any ideas? Where would you put something to keep it safe? This must be the safest place ever as we can't blooming find it now 🙈

is DD young (as you usually put it somewhere safe) and possibly snuck it upstairs to the bedroom with her?

ForcingSmiles · 03/07/2022 21:51

Could it be charging?

Failing that it's probably fallen down the sofa cushions/side of the bed ect

Or it's somewhere random like the fridge because she went to make a sandwich and absent mindendly swapped the butter for the phone (i've done this :D )

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 03/07/2022 21:53

Is it lost or has she hidden it? Your OP isn't clear but the answers are very different!

Arenanewbie · 03/07/2022 21:58

When was the last time you’ve seen it? How does she usually use it?
I literally go around with mine all the time so once I left it on the chair outside, once it fall down into the washing basket ( I was taking a shower) , it’s under my pillow or nearby for the night, once I was doing my bed and it went inside the duvet cover, once I left it in a car and once I did sewing with DD and put it in her sewing box. I wouldn’t mention all shelves in the kitchen and inside the wardrobe numerous times.

GoldPig · 03/07/2022 22:00

Between books on a shelf (or even between pages)
down the sofa
in the bin
in dds pocket/bag
under an ipad
in a safe (lol)

Gizlotsmum · 03/07/2022 22:20

Window sill, by shoes, in kitchen, bathroom, bed

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 03/07/2022 22:23

Behind the shoe cabinet. In your T shirt draw (not dds yours) under the tv, in the fridge. (My kids leave stuff in weird places)

TitInATrance · 03/07/2022 22:25

Dressing gown pocket

MinglingFlamingo · 03/07/2022 22:27

Check bags and pockets of coats
Back of sofa
Window sill
Caught up in bed sheets and blankets
Kitchen worktop
Bathroom surface
Mantel piece

Selkiesarereal · 03/07/2022 22:27

Buried at the bottom of the underwear drawer.

Mysteryuser · 03/07/2022 22:27

Put in a pocket of clothing/ coat which has been put away back in wardrobe? Or in laundry bin?

HollowTalk · 03/07/2022 22:28

Down the side of the sofa cushions.

snowmanshoes · 03/07/2022 22:28

Down the back of a radiator that they’ve placed it on when in the bathroom and its fallen behind

youwouldthink · 03/07/2022 22:32

Is it tethered to an Ipad? You could send a signal to find

SpiderinaWingMirror · 03/07/2022 22:32

My major questions before carrying on with the search
How old is she?
Has she had it outside the house?
Have you threatened to confiscate it?

Cuck00soup · 03/07/2022 22:33

Down the back of the sofa / under the sofa / bed.
On a window ledge in the loo.
In a bag. No not that one, another one.
In the washing basket.
On top of the piano.

parietal · 03/07/2022 23:00

pocket of any coat or jacket that is hanging up in a cupboard. any cupboard.

FangsForTheMemory · 03/07/2022 23:05

Does she remember what she was looking at on it last, and where she was? I've got a habit of leaving mine on shelves and ledges if I'm doing housework. Down the side of the mattress is a good one, or can she have put something on top of it eg a book?

FangsForTheMemory · 03/07/2022 23:05

Pocket of dressing gown is my favourite place for lost things.

SchoolNightWine · 03/07/2022 23:09

My daughter would pull out her bottom drawer and hide it under there if she was deliberately hiding it.
But missing ones are usually found down the side of sofas, cushions or beds.

tapdancingmum · 03/07/2022 23:15

DD lost her iPod many years ago. We looked everywhere even in her bed but it was only found when we had actually taken the mattress off. Have a go at that 😀

Saracen · 04/07/2022 00:46

My sister told me a genius way of finding lost things. Get your daughter to return to the first place she started looking for it, and look much harder. Maybe it fell down behind something or had other things placed on top of it so it can't be seen.

On some level her brain knows where it is, and that's probably the first place she looked. This method works for us about 80% of the time.

Or is it you who would have stashed it? Where did you first look?
