So yeah had a silly moment and didn't check. I got some garlic bread I'd heard was nice and randomly put it in the freezer without looking.

Will it be ok to eat?

Its bread, butter and garlic itll be fine. Its probably been frozen before but Id still eat it. I probably wouldnt if it was a meat dish though.

Yes

Cocolapew · 03/07/2022 12:48

Yes I'd eat it, not yes you'd be unreasonable 😄

userxx · 03/07/2022 12:50

It will be fine, let it defrost first.

DelurkingAJ · 03/07/2022 12:51

It might not taste as good but I can’t see what could possibly poison you!

RedRuby152 · 03/07/2022 12:53

Yeah In my head I feel it's garlic butter and bread, and cheese, I don't see why it would be an issue but I also don't see why it then says not suitable for home freezing

When things say they are unsuitable for freezing, it's because the quality might be affected (structure might break down and go mushy, for example). It will be safe to eat, but might not be as tasty.

Notimeforaname · 03/07/2022 12:55

Just means the bread is likely to be a bit shit when cooked. Or at least not as crispy/nice as it would have been without freezing. You will live 😀

LoudingVoice · 03/07/2022 12:56

Yeah it’ll be fine, it’s only bread - the quality might not be quite as nice as having cooked it from fresh but it’ll be totally fine & edible.

Wellthatsachangeforthebetter · 03/07/2022 12:56

If it would be dangerous it woukd say do not refreeze has been previously frozen ir similar. Not suitable is about quality not safety.

RedRuby152 · 03/07/2022 13:06

Well it's defrosting at the minute as was gonna have it in a minute but the chicken for the risotto hasn't defrosted yet so it's on the back burner. I guess one thing in the back of my head was and I think it was garlic confit or something where people were roasting loads of garlic and cooking it in oil for hours and people were warning about Botulism if not stored correctly
