To take one month off TTC

peepshow97 · 02/07/2022 20:07

We have been TTC #2 for about 5 months and had a miscarriage in that time.

I'm ovulating right now but recovering from an operation and going on holiday for two weeks in two weeks all inclusive.

AIBU to give this month a miss? I just can't help but feel I'm 'wasting' a perfectly good egg 😩 even though I'm in no state to dtd.

I just worry this could be 'my' month and I'm not even giving it a go.

One month off won't hurt will it 😬

Absolutely fine!

Recover then enjoy your holiday

Fupoffyagrasshole · 02/07/2022 20:12

Gawd that sounds exhausting - maybe just relax a bit for a while and enjoy your holidays

You could try the 'just shagging' approach for a few weeks!

Cornettoninja · 02/07/2022 20:14

You couldn’t be further from UR if you tried. Give yourself a break, TTC so easily becomes all consuming.

when I decided to take a break from it I just used to tell myself every period I’d saved the price of a couple of pregnancy tests.

Go enjoy being in the moment for a bit Flowers

Aw god I remember this well. I had a miscarriage in between no 1 and no 2 and that familiar gnawing that you might kiss your chance is the worst.

i wouldn’t take time off trying to conceive ie I’d still have sex if you feel like it but maybe not at the same rate you’d be at it if you were dead set on Conceiving (every second night if you were me 🤣)

good luck though. Miscarriages are tricky with emotions and trying again.

Omg I read your title and thought you were going to say you were taking a month off work to try. I was just wondering how you would phrase that to your boss. Think I need some sleep 🤣🤣

Thanks everyone!

@whoamitodisabrie yes it's horrible. I know it'll happen eventually - I'm still breastfeeding #1 which is I'm sure why it hasn't happened yet - but I get this irrational fear that this month will be the month we should conceive which is ridiculous - I'd like to enjoy the cocktails on holiday and not spend it feeling nauseous!
Yes miscarriage was horrible. I'm sorry to hear you went through that too.
