Was woken up in middle of the night last night by the smoke alarm - both ran through to living room to find a charger had burnt a hole through the sofa cushion, flames had started coming out of the charging cable - thankfully DH disconnected the socket and threw into the sink.
No harm done, but I barely slept imagining what could have happened. It has also made me very grateful for modern smoke alarm systems. Never again will I leave something charging in another room/overnight, and going to be way more careful with electrical devices in general now.
AIBU to ask for others to share similar experiences they have learnt from, moved on from and just occasionally look back and cringe at what could have happened?!
