Are hydrating masks a myth?

My hair is incredibly dry.

It feels like I've tried every hydrating hair mask under the sun. Cheap supermarket ones, trendy ones from Look Fantastic and expensive ones from the hairdresser. None of them has ever made any difference.

I'm starting to believe they are a myth but the good people at Mumsnet told me about Dermatica which has completely changed my life and cleared up all my acne so I thought I'd check if anyone has any magical solutions for hair.

Please help!

Try Johnson's Baby Shampoo - no drying foaming agents

I really like Garnier Hair Food masks. I use the papaya one for damaged hair. Leaves my hair as silky and smooth as elasticizer.

I know it's not a hair mask but saw this the other day 😭

You may need protein. When you don't have the right protein/moisture balance in your hair, it can lead to dryness. Don't scared to use a protein treatment on dry hair, it could be just what you need.

Also, try using heat when using your moisture mask. It helps to open up the cuticles so the hair can actually absorb the product, instead of just sitting ontop of your hair. You put a shower cap / cling film/ plastic bag over your hair once the mask is in your hair. You can get portable hooded dryer on top of your wrapped hair. They connect to any standard hair dryer and are a decent price on amazon or eBay (£15/20). You could also heat a damp towel in the microwave and use that as alternative. Using heat with hair masks has changed my life!

I didn't get on with olaplex either.

Pantene in the gold tube is better.

Isn't it all on in gold? Smile

What is the product name?

Christ, yeah clarifying shampoo is for occasional use only, not every other week.

Just dial that down a bit and use protein masks/ argon oil and you'll be grand.

No @Meraas it's mostly white. It's 3 minute miracle.
