Could I lose anything before my holiday next week?

Going away next Friday, but just feeling wobbly and bloated at the minute.
I'm something like 61.5kg and I'm 169cm so I'm in no way overweight, but I've got a bloated belly and just feeling it all over.
Every time I have my period, I am bloated for an entire week, even after the bleeding stops, which is very frustrating.
Anyway I'd like to feel confident in a swimsuit next week and looking to lose 1kg (the water retention really) if possible.
I go to the gym/sauna 3 times per week and I'll be doing parkrun this Saturday too.
For breakfast I eat porridge with oat milk and honey. Probiotic drink and portion of berries.
Mid morning piece of cheese and piece of salami.
Lunch wholemeal sandwich and a packet of 'baked' crisps.
Afternoon protein bar.
Dinner usually meat with salad.
Snack on cashew nuts.
Also have a couple of biscuits like bourbons every day which I know isn't good, but I think that everything else is healthy.
I do get hungry often so have 3 small snacks per day. I don't drink any alcohol, tea or coffee.
I drink one portion of fruit juice per day then mainly water.
Would be interested to hear any feedback and advice, I don't think I deserve to feel bloated like this. I don't drink dairy anymore, I don't think it's wholemeal bread but I may be wrong.

I have wobbly arms too, saddlebags, puffy face etc. And it's getting me down.

Cut out caffeine and drink loads of water, 2 to 3 ltrs.

Enjoy your holiday!

fishingpaintings · 01/07/2022 09:09

Drink all the water?

the shape of your body has nothing to do with your value as a person. Be proud of your internal qualities - hard work and kindness - and don't worry about your body.

trevthecat · 01/07/2022 09:12

Drink all of the water! All of it!

Goggle787 · 01/07/2022 09:12

Thanks for the answers, I don't drink any coffee or tea and I also gave up diet fizzy drinks around 2 weeks ago, but I'll try drinking more water!
You are very right, it shouldn't have anything to do with it. I just feel uncomfortable with the boating, sluggish almost.

Does it sound like I eat too much?

Try intermittent fasting - 16:8. It can really help with bloating.

Goggle787 · 01/07/2022 09:16

Thank you, I've never been brave enough but maybe I should give it a try!

Can you cut out the snacks or substitute them for something more healthy? They are quite high calorie. My diet for meals is fairly similar to yours, but I don't snack in between meals.

Goggle787 · 01/07/2022 09:19

Yes that's possibly the case..
I eat breakfast at 8, then I have a morning snack at 11.
Lunch at 1:30 and a snack on my work break at about 3:30, then dinner at about 6:30/7..
I'll try to cut out the protein bars

What you need is a couple of days of Nororvirus(D+V)
Works wonders!

— Have a lovely time though OP! Remember we are our worst critic❤️

Goggle787 · 01/07/2022 09:28

Not sure I'd like to have that 😁
Thank you!
Wondering if I could do 14:10 instead, a slightly more relaxed version, or would it be a lot less effective?

You sound fine OP

But if you want to tweak things I'd maybe try and ditch the snacks, even the healthy ones. Have some with your meals if needed to stop you getting hungry.

If you can't do the intermittent fasting then just have your breakfast as late as you can (wont work if you exercise in the morning) You then dont need a morning snack. And try and change the porridge for some more protein eg omlette or yoghurt with berries and nuts and a sprinkle of granola if you want.

Maybe ditch the baked crisps as think they are ultra processed. Have a bigger sandwich or a side of crunchy veg or some fruit and dark chocolate after.

Broadly, I lose weight by eating what I want for meals, if I keep my portions small, eat lots of veg with it, eat breakfast as late as I can, and don't snack. So I can still lose weight with nachos if I make it with a few nachos and chilli with a load of veg but not too many nachos etc. I'm the same weight and height as you normally (and then I put it back on with too much booze ha)

Maybe if you do lots of cardio you could do more weights and a hit workout or something

Heli1copter · 01/07/2022 09:32

Try cutting out the cheese snack, all dairy makes me bloated. I'd also try fasting, start with 14:10 and move to 16:8 if it goes well.

Eat your evening meal earlier, say 5.30-6pm and then only water till breakfast at 8am the next day.

Riverlee · 01/07/2022 09:33

Could the milk be causing the bloating? Change to oat milk?

Pansypotter123 · 01/07/2022 09:34

Get rid of the honey - wasted calories!

RampantIvy · 01/07/2022 09:35

The OP says in her first post that she doesn't drink dairy @Riverlee
She uses oat milk.

Goggle787 · 01/07/2022 09:35

Thanks for these excellent suggestions!

If she gets hungry often I wouldn't do 16:8, took me weeks to get into the swing of it

NoseyNellie · 01/07/2022 09:46

Oh my gosh, with a week to go I would stress less about diet & exercise and buy some tummy control swimming costumes/bikinis instead.

Apologies if this isn’t financially possible for you but I’d say it’s probably the easiest fix, especially for belly bloat. Some of it is a bit old lady but have a good scroll and you can find some cute stuff too.

Morning, all. This thread was started by a previously banned poster, so it'll be coming down in a moment.

4NonBlondes2022 · 01/07/2022 10:06

Going away next week without the person you’ve spent the last 20 years with, more time together than with anyone else you know or have known. Probably why am being left behind. Even though I’ve been called a Saint quite a few times. Wouldn’t want you to feel embarrassed being seen with me.

palygold · 01/07/2022 10:46

You're unlikely to lose anything much in a week realistically.

But why were you banned 😦
