Weird for taking pic at dinner table?

Just had a work dinner in a company I joined a few months ago, it was part of an annual get together for the team. I suggested we had a photograph at the dinner table whilst having drinks (after having a few other pictures throughout the day). The restaurant setting was really nice. The boss acted like it was the most bizarre thing and was pretty much rolling her eyes? Is it really odd to have a pic taken at the table in a restaurant?

Not everyone likes having their photo taken, maybe she just didn’t want it done?

No, it’s not weird, but not everyone loves having their picture taken.

No,I don't think it's weird.

Do you mean you took pics of an empty table because it looked nice made up or with people sitting at it eating/drinking?

Bluevelvetcake2 · 29/06/2022 23:45

a couple of pics were taken throughout the day which she requested and was in so I don’t think it’s about her not wanting to be in pics. she asked if I wanted everyone to stand somewhere as if having a photo whilst people are sat at the table was very weird….

It's something psychological concerning her position of "authority"... likely her ego was set off by your request because, on some level, she's intimated by you. Perhaps as a person, or maybe due to your skills at work, she feels insecure.

No, it's lovely. I love pictures of tables of people having fun.

Agreed

It's quite common and not at all weird but that doesn't mean everyone likes it. I find posed pictures like that more often than not interrupt the flow of the evening and are a bit tedious and rarely look great. But one of my favourite photos with one group of work friends is exactly that sort of set up!
