Does anyone know anything about derealization?

I think I may suffer from derealization at times, mainly when in busy places like supermarkets or walking through busy streets. When it happens, I feel foggy headed and like I can't concentrate, and simple things like crossing a road or pushing a trolley become really difficult. I just feel like I'm in a complete fog.

I have been diagnosed with anxiety and am on sertraline and doing CBT, but I'm not sure if I need to mention this to my GP as well? I had never heard of derealization until recently. Is there anything that can be done to help or is it just a symptom of anxiety? I'm quite worried about it to be honest

Unfortunately, anxiety and derealization can both become slightly worse during the first few weeks of treatment with Sertraline and some other AD's. Its worth keeping a symptom diary, and mention this to your GP as they can give you other meds to help tide you over. Or you may need to change your AD.
