To wonder if travelling on 4th July is a bad idea?

We are supposed to be driving from Kent (Thanet area) to Colchester on Monday. I've just heard there are apparantly fuel protests planned for that day and motorways/A-roads will be coming to a standstill (the A12 to Colchester included, apparantly.) I have an appointment I would rather not reschedule due to really need to go but wondering if I should try if we might not actually make it there anyway. Partner thinks we will be fine and protests might not even happen.
Don't want to be too personal but I have a medical condition whereby I can need the loo without too much warning, so I'm a bit frightened of getting stuck in the car😯
Just wondering what others think really!

Sorry, didn't mean to enable voting, I have no idea how I did that!

I don't know but I'm wondering too as I need to get into North London for an appointment.

Public transport?

Shewee or similar + Tena lady or similar? Will give you peace of mind, if you do have to travel and there’s a danger of being stuck in traffic.

Public transport?

I'm looking in to that too - just figuring out the logistics as I struggle with too much walking. Should have been so easy to get there in the car, relatively speaking anyway!

Shewee is not going to cut it unfortunately 😳I do always have plenty of pads.....Sorry if oversharing, I just can't quite make my mind up what to do!

Ha sorry, didn't think of that! I should have specified fuel protests in the title 😆

Stay in a hotel somewhere near where you have to go the night before

The Colchester protest is planned for the A12 adjacent to the football stadium so it depends which part you need to get to. (I'm fairly local)

Traveling on the 4th is definitely challenging here.

I need to get to Wales that day but it is going to be a nightmare! Advice is not to go near the area but hopefully if we leave much (much) later than planned it will have cleared.
