What do I do?

Not a poo troll. MN can verify etc etc.

I have had a bad bout of diarrhoea today and yesterday. Not feeling ill as such but sudden urgent loose bowel movements several times yesterday and a few today. Could be a bug.

Have to take ds to an important sports event on a field tonight. Not sure if toilets are available but if not I'm screwed as it's in the middle of nowhere. I'm reluctant to take Imodium as if it's a bug it needs to come out! But I'm also very scared of getting caught short in a field full of people. There is nobody else to take him and he can't miss it. Any bright ideas?

He’ll have to miss it if you’re too sick to take him

Jazzyjas · 27/06/2022 17:43

I don't feel at all sick but it's just the fear of having an episode while I'm out. I've been ok for the past few hours but it's Sod's law that I'll have an issue when I'm stuck somewhere without facilities. Really don't want him to miss it, it's an important event :-(

Your concern should be staying home and not spreading a tummy bug...not getting caught short with no toilets.

Palmtree9 · 27/06/2022 17:45

Surely there's 3 options;

Go and risk it and accept the worst case scenario of being caught short
Take imodium or similar
Not go

Jazzyjas · 27/06/2022 17:48

@SlashBeef it's an outdoor event in the middle of a vast field, I don't think the risk of contagion is high.

treeinthedistance · 27/06/2022 17:51

I wouldn't go.

devildeepbluesea · 27/06/2022 17:52

Google maps to scout out nearby toilets? Drop him off then go hone? Can another parent help?

Yorkshirebred · 27/06/2022 17:54

Take a pop up tent and a porta potty.

Skinnermarink · 27/06/2022 17:54

Oh don’t be ridiculous, you take Imodium or you don’t go, no one on here can magic up any toilet facilities for you.

JuneJubilee · 27/06/2022 17:58

Plastic bag & towel on the car sest
extra pair of knickers
cycle style shirts/leggings under outer clothes
don't eat or drink before going

STAY IN THE CAR the least movement the better!

pray to any & all that will listen!!

good luck!!

BattenburgDonkey · 27/06/2022 18:01

Sorry op but other than the 3 only options, what else can anyone suggest? 1)take Imodium 2) risk it 3) don’t go.

Id love to hear what better solution there could possibly be.

Don’t do this, who would really risk crap in their car for a kids sport event? Imagine if his friends saw you shitting in your car too. This isn’t life of death, don’t risk having an accident in your car and then changing your knickers in there. Insane idea

ProfessorFusspot · 27/06/2022 18:06

I'd take the immodium if you want to go (unless you've previous experience of it not working for you) OR say you are sick and can't go.

Jazzyjas · 27/06/2022 18:07

I'll take the Imodium. I was always told you're not meant to take it if you have a bug but sod it not many other options

OP posts:
yourestandingonmyneck · 27/06/2022 18:12

I wouldn't take Imodium. What time is the event? Just try and get cleared out before you go, and if you're feeling ok-ish, go and wear extra shorts etc underneath.

There's only so much that can come out. If you still feel like there's more to come, maybe don't risk it.

Georgieporgie29 · 27/06/2022 18:25

Well erm I may have drunk flour and water in my younger days to ‘bung’ myself up so I could still go on my night out 😳
As you have probably guessed I am not a doctor so I couldn’t possibly recommend this solution 😬

Kite22 · 27/06/2022 18:30

If it is "an important sports event" then there will be others going.

Ask another parent to take him.

Whodoiwanttobe · 27/06/2022 18:36

Wear a nappy?!!

confusedofengland · 27/06/2022 18:39

Ask another parent/coach/teacher to take him.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 27/06/2022 18:49

If there's no one else that can take him, is there somewhere nearby that you can go to after dropping him off (assume it's too far to go home and come back for him later?) like a supermarket, where you can sit in thecar in the car park and there's a loo if you need to use one?

Also, I'd put a bin bag on the seat, not a carrier bag. Towel on top as PP said. Just in case. You don't want to be trying to wash that out of your upholstery should the worst happen!!

I'd probably also take the immodium just this once.
