Can you take drivers license photo at home?

I've lost my drivers license.

My passport runs out in October and the photo is 10 years old.

I would like to use a new photo for my replacement license and for my passport.

I know you can take passport photos at home but I'm unsure about drivers license?

Why are the photo booth photos so AWFUL! I have wonky eyes and one side of my mouth slopes down! If somebody takes a normal photo of me, I don't look like this! It's stressing me out!

Yes, i did, then used an online passport photo printing service

Yes, as long as the lighting is good, it will be fine. I think I did my passport first and then that photo was automatically used for renewing my licence online.

Another option is to go somewhere like Snappy Snaps, a real person takes the photo and they make sure it is within all the guidelines too. You get a link to an electronic copy of the photo as well as the prints and can use this directly in your application (at least you can for your passport, suspect it will be the same for driver's licence)

I took my sons passport pics online and then used snapfish to print them.
They give a guide on where the outline of your head should be so as long as you're not smiling and are looking forward I don't think you can go wrong.

It costs £14 to renew your licence online but you have to have a valid passport. If you don't have a passport it costs £21.50 to get it done at a Post Office. It's discrimination as not everyone has a passport.
