It took Shell 5 months to issue a bill, but as soon as they bothered they started texting and emailing at least twice a week looking for payment. We’ve paid the bill, but I’m still getting emails. I’ve blocked the text number or I’d still be getting texts. I called today, but after being on hold for ages I couldn’t remember the last bit of the postcode for the previous address, so they wouldn’t discuss it with me.
AIBU to think this harassment is wrong?

Shell do have a chat facility online and you can look up the postcode on Royal Mail postcode finder of your previous address
Could you screenshot the page of your bank account showing it's paid ? Maybe email this to them as proof of payment ?
It is bad they are hassling your like this if you've paid it ; might be that it's not showing on your account yet , must be their error.
I'm with Shell and I have an online account with them so I can check what is going on etc. might be worth setting this up too if you haven't got one already.

They're hopeless. For the first 2 months I paid my bill by replying to their text message only to find out they couldn't recognise my payment in their system so kept sending threatening emails telling me I'd ruin my credit history and they'd cut me off.

Really crap.
