Budget friendly short breaks in the north west

Posting on AIBU for traffic.

Please can someone recommend any budget friendly short stay getaways (a day or two) in the north west for the 29th of July

Everything I've looked at is quite pricy. I need something that's budget friendly as we're also saving up to move out and that is the priority, however, it's our first wedding anniversary so I thought we'd do a little something!

Thanks!

What is your budget?

Fence Gate Lodge in Fence, near Clitheroe, is lovely. Not budget compared to travelodge, but cheaper than elsewhere in the UK for the quality

Hey- Congrats - is it just a day trip or are you looking for an overnighter? Also NW is a huge area and you don't want to spend the whole day in the car so where are you starting from? Chester is a great day trip so is Liverpool or Manchester. If you like walking maybe Castleton in the Peaks or Hebden Bridge? There's loads to see and do in the Lakes and N Wales. There's hotel availability in Llandudno for 70 quid with breakfast
