Quick question about passport

Sorry for the blatant misuse of AIBU but would really value any urgent insights.

If you have recently received a renewed or replacement passport, did you get any notification by text or email that your passport was being delivered? Or did it just land on your doorstep unannounced?

We spend the extra £ and had ours sent by secure delivery and received an email notification with tracking number.

I got a text notification that the passport had been dipatched. But the passport had been delivered the day before.

I got a message to say it was on it's way and it just arrived through the letter box a few days later.

I got texts and emails for every stage such as they had recd passport, they’d issued , they’d sent to printers, they sent to delivery people - then 2 days later we had it. All took about 10 days. Recd passport last week. Service has been impeccable.

Thanks everyone. We've not had any notification yet, so I'm not holding out much hope of it arriving this week 😔

Hi, my arrived last week, daughter's this morning. Last week - driver knocked and handed it to me, this morning just posted through. Received multiple texts to say 1) Application complete
2) Passport being printed
3) Passport being delivered

I was very, very anxious over wait time and tried for weeks to get face-to-face appointment. Couldn't keep waiting so applied online.It's taken maximum 3 weeks, so pleased they are here.
There is a number to ring if you get to 2 weeks before flight/ferry & still not received,
but you may need evidence of booked flight etc. Good luck.

Ooops ! ps you MUST send your old passport back. This is conditional on receiving new. Have you done this & did you pay for tracking service? ( Usually post office would recommend this ) All passports are sent back, by secure delivery.
