To be shocked by the requests on Olio?

There's a wanted section on the Olio app where people can make a post regarding an item they want.

Usually things like empty jars, excess soil, cardboard boxes, any old/ damaged items.

However I've been on there today and I am truly shocked.

People are asking for free iPhones, smart watches, laptops. Smart TVs and even a Pandora bracelet.

Surely this is U?

Not unreasonable to ask - I just assume they might not get!

We get this on our local free cycle type group. iPhones are a big one. And things that must be in really good condition. In search of LOL dolls, must be in really good condition went up this week actually!

I remember someone looking for a pizza oven and chiminea for their garden and attached a picture of a beautifully landscaped garden with hot tub. You don’t ask you don’t get I suppose.

We are truly past the post-shame era.

Yup I left the local Facebook charitable giving group for these reasons

• chancers asking for luxury goods
• chancers taking items offered for free and selling them on, repeatedly
• chancers asking you to pay to deliver an item you are offering them for free

That is cheeky. I’ve noticed on the Facebook selling groups there’s a huge amount of people asking for expensive items that they also need delivered. Nobody ever offers…

We were giving away a working tv year ago and advertised on free cycle. It went within the hour and it was couple with an open top coupe who collected it

That’s probably a kid of about 13 asking.

Nobody’s going to give people any of that stuff. They’re wasting their time but I don’t really think it should matter to anyone else that they’ve asked.

"I want a kingsize bed. Can't drive so must be delivered" type thing.
No sense of manners or propriety!

Also of you're canny enough to get free stuff, you have more income to spend on flashy cars .
