to ask for unique ideas for a hen do?

I'm MOH and planning my best mates hen. She's easy going, lots of fun and likes doing anything once she's there ( a bit like all of us I imagine ). Doesn't so much like planning, so it's going to be a total surprise. I have the option of hosting part of it at my home as we have the space, even if it's all starting off here. There's 7 of us going, all in our twenties and family etc are attending a big meal instead. Any ideas would be welcome! We have done so many hen do's recently it would be nice to consider something unique. Thank you! Sorry for posting in AIBU I know the only U bit is posting here for traffic!

Just have a night out like the good old days! That's unique now. Go into local town, have something to eat and then hit pubs and clubs, eat a kebab on the way home, jobs done.

Paint balling
Go karting
Pub crawl

You can get life drawing to come to your house. Naked man, prosecco and some painting

Bananapancakes20 · 23/06/2022 11:57

We had a friends 30th in Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden and it was one of the best nights out we’ve ever had!! Non stop laughs and the best time. It would be perfect for a hen do

birdglasspen · 23/06/2022 11:57

Could you meet and have starters at your house just nibbles really and drinks then get a bus /large taxi to take you to another friends house who would have more food and drinks and party games then another friend for desserts then pub?! Dressed in retro bridesmaid dresses?

kimberly489 · 23/06/2022 11:58

Go to a nunnery

MojoMoon · 23/06/2022 12:01

Recent hen do activities I've taken part in (not all unique though)

  • Escape Room
  • Old school Sports Day (organised by external company)
  • Inflatable Water Assault Course
  • Boozy Crazy Golf
  • Bongo Bingo (so much fun!)
  • Bottomless Brunch
  • Clay Penis Decorating Class (...yep!)
  • Beer Pong Table at one of these new activity bars!
  • Life Drawing Class
  • Shooting Range
  • Go Karting
  • Table at a bar/club with drinks package

Bouncy Castle and BBQ - joint with the stags.

Wow I'm spoilt for choice with these ideas thank you! I do like the enthusiasm behind a good old fashioned night out! Bunga Bunga sounds great, we're just above London so could get there quite easily too. Love the activities suggested too, perhaps could incorporate both as there's a bit of something for everyone then. I LOVE the nude painting idea... the bride is very arty so she would probably love that too

I recently planned a hen do with a group of bridesmaids we started with a really casual drink in our local but then got a party bus to pick us up (you can take ur own booze) and took us to Ballie Ballerson in Shoreditch. It's a grown up ball pit and cocktail bar. I wasn't sure at first but it was bloody amazing! Bus ride home was a bit messy tho

Yodaisawally · 23/06/2022 15:40

They've had their day as the big long weekend shindig haven't they?! Night out, lots of fun, no one is £700 poorer and can look forward to the wedding.

If you are interested in life drawing....check out "the artful hen". It's a good friend of mines company. He's rated number one in the UK and his reviews are outstanding. A few of my mates have done it and loved it! I never have because I just can't actually face seeing him naked! Haha. All very tasteful and great sun from what I can work out

A lot of people here might need to look up the definition of unique....
I'm pretty sure cocktail classes, gin tasting, go karting etc are pretty much aimed primarily at hen parties!
Not that a lot of the suggestions aren't fun (which is why they're popular!), but they certainly aren't unique...
