To not be asleep

I know I should be but.......I'm wide awake, not at all sleepy, brain won't switch off etc.

Anyone else?

OP posts:
iamme21 · 22/06/2022 23:46

Yep!

Olimar · 22/06/2022 23:50

And I'm definitely unreasonable for being on mumsnet when I should be watching some relaxation thing on youtube instead, right?

OP posts:
IsDaveThere · 22/06/2022 23:51

Why should you be? Do you have to get up early or something?
I'm not even in bed yet.

Olimar · 22/06/2022 23:54

Yes I have to be up at 5am!

OP posts:
mrsfollowill · 22/06/2022 23:58

Ah! I'm up at 6.30am tomorrow -my regular bedtime is 12.30am. DS and DH are already asleep, I love a quiet hour on here late at night. I'm in the office in the morning though so will go up soon. Once I have finished the icy cold G&T I'm sipping. Do you have to be anywhere in the morning?

mrsfollowill · 22/06/2022 23:59

sorry x post - get yourself up to bed soon Grin

Olimar · 23/06/2022 00:03

I'm in bed but on my phone. Feel like getting up and doing some washing,,,,or cleaning out the fridge.....or going for a midnight drive.

So many possibilities Grin

OP posts:
HadEnoughOfBears · 23/06/2022 00:05

Absolutely me.

If I get up and start moving around though either the dog will decide it's already morning or the teenager will want to 'do something' 🙈🙈🙈🙈

CarburyChocolateRules · 23/06/2022 00:06

Yep me too….
Way to hot…

Olimar · 23/06/2022 00:15

@CarburyChocolateRules it would also be unreasonable to go get the bar of caramilk from the fridge too, wouldn't it?

Currently creeping around the bedroom with my phone torch on trying to catch the last Mozzie...

I've just killed 3 of the bastards!!!

All this without waking my husband up...and I've got to be up for 6am

Must go to sleep

MaryQueenOfSwots · 23/06/2022 00:27

I’m too excited to go to sleep. Started my new job today.

Olimar · 23/06/2022 00:28

I'm now imagining @ItsNowOrNever zapping mozzies with her phone torch like a laser beam

OP posts:
ItsNowOrNever · 23/06/2022 00:30

@Olimar

I am a Jedi warrior, they are all dead!!

Delighted with myself, must calm down and go to sleep now.

Olimar · 23/06/2022 00:51

I've given in and put a load of washing on.......and started on the choclate.......and put on a an episode of eastenders to see if thatt sends me to sleep!

Also had to give the cat some secret midnight munchies too😺

OP posts:
Olimar · 23/06/2022 00:52

Not found any mozzies to zap yet though!

OP posts:
Olimar · 23/06/2022 04:13

Well the EastEnders didn't work so I ended up deep cleaning the kitchen instead.

OP posts:
Ragwort · 23/06/2022 04:29

I admire your enthusiasm for cleaning at this time of day, I frequently wake around 4am and think I should really get up and do something (today is my day off so I can lie in later) but I am always conscious of not wanting to wake up DH ... although he is in a separate bedroom Grin.

Groundhogliving22 · 23/06/2022 04:34

i’m awake but only because I’m dealing with a chronic sickness bug that my children so lovingly brought home from nursery 😂🤢

it’s supposed to my relaxing but productive week off work too and it’s ruined 😩

Merryweather80 · 23/06/2022 05:52

I've been awake all night.

I'm going to feel horrid in a few hours. I've got loads to do today.

I think a combination of pain, swollen painful glands and restless legs kept me awake. Thankfully Mumsnet kept me occupied.

Olimar · 25/06/2022 00:18

Anyone else in the Wide Awake Club again tonight?

OP posts:
Penguintears · 25/06/2022 00:21

Me. I've been shattered all day and couldn't wait to get to bed but keep being disturbed by noisy people (in a hotel) and now I'm angry and can't sleep!

Blackalice · 25/06/2022 00:34

Yep. On night 5 of covid insomnia 🙄

Olimar · 25/06/2022 00:41

I'm not tired at all. Brain is telling me to get up and play loud music do stuff.

@Penguintears I'd be angry too. Or compete with them to be the noisiest lol

@Blackalice hope you're not feeling too bad with the covid, apart from the insomnia

I feel like screens make such a big difference. The blue light has really messed with our sleep cycles unfortunately!
